Why I’m Happy to Call America Home

International travel should be a requirement of all US-born Americans. There’s no better way to appreciate the privileges, rights and freedoms Americans have than to spend a week in a foreign country.  Even during a period of crazy Capitol Hill bickering and ram-it-down-our-throat legislation, the spirit of American rooted in ideals of freedom, tolerance, giving, caring and hard-work can not be denied. So in my week long journey up the Nile and across the desert lands of Egypt, I made a list of the things I’m thankful for and why I’m so happy to call America home.
