On the 8th Day of Christmas: Santa Busted

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Don’t underestimate kids insatiable appetite to see the big guy delivering the goods. In the 80’s these kids rigged a Polaroid camera for a glimpse. Today, kids would rig up a webcam with a direct feed to their website and Youtube for the whole family and world to discover that the big guy comes in the disguise of their parents. Can you sing it? Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike, if I like the girl who cares who you like?

Another 70’s classic–”Be a Christmas morning hero!”

On the 4th Day of Christmas: .50 Gift Certificates

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

Remember gift certificates? Yes, before gift cards became all the rage, gift certificates would often make their way to our Christmas stockings. This 1975 McDonald’s commercial starring a three year old Corey Feldman reminds us of a time when that .50 gift certificate could actually buy us something at McDonald’s. It was “something special for someone special.”
